Could household cleaning products give you a headache, and perhaps cause your Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura or ITP and low platelet count?

Can housecleaning give you a headache, and actually cause your Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura and low platelet count?

Or in other words, what does cleaning house and Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura share in common?

Well, I'm sure that the first notion that one probably thinks of is that cleaning house is enough to give anybody a migraine and get their blood boiling. Don't we all just hate house cleaning? Just the horrific notion of doing it will send most people to the psych ward, but it could possibly be the cause of ITP? What a concept!

Imagine a whole day of cleaning. Starting off with the bathroom, we go nuts with the Clorox and the Ajax. That should really take care of it. Oh forgot the ammonia just for increased disinfection. Then move on to the kitchen.... bleach spray, oven cleaner, Cascade powder. Then some floor cleaner. The place is cleaner already. Next on the list, the rugs need to be cleaned and the windows washed. Windex and carpet cleaning liquid should do the trick. Oh that's right, go back and polish the furniture and woodwork. Where's that Pledge? Boy what a cleaning machine you are!

Boy! Doesn't your home look lovely? Now for your much deserved break. Oh no, you have a nasty headache flaring up. And you are feeling very tired. You're just plain tuckered out.

No wonder you put off cleaning your home. Every time you house clean you work yourself to the bone and find yourself reaching for the Excedrin for that nagging headache. Did you ever ponder that cleaning your house should be a fairly easy task? It's not extremely hard work. Ok, I'll give you the fact that you've been moving all day but you shouldn't feel like crawling under a rock for the next few days to recover.

Here's a thought, it's not the task of cleaning that's got you feeling like you're going to die, it's the cleaning products that you are using. It's almost amazing that we spend so much energy to make our house a safer more sanitary place in which to live, but never think of the fact that most everyday chemical products we use are far more detrimental to us than a few germs and messes. Imagine over the long term just what these harsh chemicals might be causing..possibly the destruction of our immune system? The breakdown of our body's defenses causing it to attack itself. Consider that all these products with chemicals just might be causing your ITP and low platelet count.

Did you know that almost all of the every day consumer products that we use, are filled with toxic chemicals far more dangerous than stated on the labels? And that due to labeling laws the manufacturer doesn't even have to state to you of half of what's in there. Also that only 20% of all the products that we so willing use have actually been tested for dangers. We are being fooled by big businesses without proper protection from the government.
